They are roofed in traditional pandanus leaves and sit on the lagoon itself on stilts. They all have sundecks and platforms which you can step off into the lagoon waters for a swim or a snorkel or watch the sunset, glass in hand.
Motu is the Tahitian word for an islet and it's around our own little motu that we built our motu overwater bungalows. The motu sits out by the lagoon in front of the Lagoonarium, the main pool and the central resort complex. It's a little haven of peace and tranquility. A beautiful and complete remodeling of these units has just been completed in the end of July 2015. The bed faces a floor-to-ceiling window, bathing the bungalow in light and giving an amazing view of the island of Moorea.
These bungalows measure 398 square feet with a large, 344 square foot terrace with platforms, and their bamboo decor creates a definite feeling of Polynesia. There is a king bed and a day bed in the separate lounge area, accommodating 2 adults and 1 child. All of our bungalows are air-conditioned.
