The Royal Suite

The one-of-a-kind Royal Suite is a magnificent, three-bedroom suite in a private area of the hotel overlooking Fifth Avenue and the Pulitzer Fountain. The elaborate array of private and social rooms, rich decorative style, sumptuous textiles and exquisite furnishings are all inspired by the ambiance of the royal court of Louis XV. A series of unique oval and round vestibules connect the suite's formal entertainment rooms, which include an exquisitely designed living room featuring a grand piano, a luxurious dining room, which seats up to 12 people, and a library that has been stocked with titles hand-selected by Prosper Assouline, the founder of luxury book publisher Assouline. A state-of-the-art kitchen with Viking appliances facilitate sophisticated entertaining and is ideal for guests who travel with a personal chef or wish to retain the services of a chef during their stay.

The Royal Suite also offers a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment, providing an additional measure of privacy for guests. The master bedroom, which overlooks Fifth Avenue, is decorated in a romantic palate of creams, beige, and grey and has a separate dressing room. The Fitzgerald Suite

In honor of F. Scott Fitzgerald, one of The Plaza's most famous patrons, and to celebrate Baz Luhrmann's film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, we invite you to experience the dramatic luxury of The Fitzgerald Suite. Designed by Academy Award® winner Catherine Martin, costume designer, production designer and co-producer of Baz Luhrmann's upcoming feature The Great Gatsby, the suite is a dramatic art deco space that channels the dynamism of the Jazz Age. The suite is furnished exclusively by RH, Restoration Hardware to reflect the luxury and style of the era, which captivated Fitzgerald and drew him to The Plaza, inspiring its inclusion in his great works.

Every detail of the suite relates to Fitzgerald's life and his time at The Plaza as well as Baz Luhrmann’s film. Dome ceilings surrounded by antique mirrors feature 1920's Odeon Glass Fringe Chandeliers. The bedspread and towels are custom embroidered with the Jay Gatsby and Daisy-inspired monogram, seen frequently throughout the film. The walls are adorned with portraits of the 2013 film cast captured by legendary Hollywood photographer Douglas Kirkland, images of Fitzgerald and his wife, and 1920s photos from Vogue and Vanity Fair. Bookshelves are filled with the author’s complete works and books that inspired the filmmakers throughout production, as well as classic RH accessories that include vintage-inspired trophy urns modeled on a sporting prize from the 1920s, cast-iron Brooklyn Bridge bookends and timeless 1920s French Glass Cloches. Guests will also find entertainment in RH’s vintage board games, including Monopoly, which originated during the era, iconic Gramophone-shaped iPhone and iPad speakers, custom Tiffany & Co. playing cards, and coffee table books that invoke languorous summers on the Gold Coast or the vibrant New York of the Roaring Twenties.

Connecting Deluxe

The Connecting Deluxe are two spacious guestrooms that connect to create a unique space that is ideal for families., The master bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has two queen beds. Located on the 18th floor, the suite features a round bed within a unique circle-shaped bedroom overlooking 5th Avenue. From now through October 9 the Society is presenting “Eloise at the Museum"

This summer, our most mischievous resident has temporarily taken up a second home at the New York Historical Society. From now through October 9 the Society is presenting “Eloise at the Museum”  showcasing more than 75 objects – from original manuscript pages and sketchbooks to photographs and vintage dolls – and reveals the creative collaboration between cabaret star Kay Thompson and illustrator Hillary Knight . The Plaza has created an exclusive “Eloise at the Museum” package  including  four passes to the Eloise Exhibit, Todd English Food Hall’s New Yorker and Little New Yorker picnics for two children and two adults, and an Eloise scavenger hunt, which takes you all through Central Park, ending at the steps of the museum on Central Park West.

From LaGuardia Airport:

Take Grand Central Parkway west to Triboro Bridge. Exit right for Manhattan, pay toll and bear left for FDR Drive South. Take FDR South to 63rd Street exit. Turn right onto 63rd Street to 5th Avenue. Make a left onto 5th Avenue to 60th Street. Make a right onto 60th Street following traffic circle around to the light. The Plaza is straight ahead.

To LaGuardia Airport:

Go east on 58th Street to York Avenue. Take a left onto York Avenue to 62nd Street. Turn right onto FDR Drive North. Take FDR North to Triboro Bridge. Take Triboro Bridge following signs for Queens/Grand Central Parkway/La Guardia Airport. Pay Toll. Take Grand Central Parkway to the LaGuardia Airport exit.

From Northern New Jersey:

Take George Washington Bridge. At the end of the bridge take the right hand exit for Henry Hudson Parkway. As soon as you can, after the exit , go into the extreme left-hand lane (look out for merging traffic) the road will fork shortly. Once on the Parkway, The Hudson River should be on your right. The Highway goes down to the street level (after 79th Street exit). Take the left-hand exit onto West 56th Street. Make a left onto 6th Avenue and come up 3 blocks to Central Park South. Make a right. The hotel is the last building on that 1st block on the right-hand side.

From South New Jersey or Philadelphia:

Take the New Jersey Turnpike north to exit 16E Lincoln Tunnel. Pay toll and follow signs to Lincoln Tunnel. On the Manhattan side, the road will fork suddenly. Take left fork; go up 3 blocks to 42nd Street. Make a left at 42nd Street, then a right onto 10th Avenue. Take 58th Street to 6th Avenue and make a left. Go one block to Central Park South, and make a right. The hotel is the last building on that first block on the right hand side.

From Connecticut:

Take either Merritt Parkway (becomes Hutchinson Parkway) or Connecticut Turnpike into New York. Follow signs for Triboro Bridge. At the end of first part of bridge, make a right before the toll booth. Go through the second set of toll booths, stay to the left, follow the sign for FDR Drive and take a left curving exit down onto FDR Drive South.
